I have had what seems like a very busy July! I’ve been on holiday, been to the races and also saw Michael Buble at the beginning of the month. As I had such a fabulous time I thought I would share with you some of the pictures of my mini break to London. Matt bought me the Michael Buble tickets as part of my Christmas present so I have spent the past 6 months in anticipation for this weekend so I’m sure you can understand just how excited I was. I am a massive Michael Buble fan (yes I’m so uncool) and have never seen him live before so this was the best Christmas present I could if asked for.
We had tickets for the Friday night so we took a train from Leeds to London at lunchtime to arrive in good time to get to our hotel and get some dinner in Greenwich. We had a wander around the Royal Naval College and took in some sun before heading for dinner. After eating dinner we headed back to our hotel to freshen up and took the tube to the O2 arena for the show.
The show was everything I imagined and so much more. I was completely overwhelmed that I even had a tear in my eye when he sang my favourite songs. He sung perfectly and has such a great personality so he had some great banter with the crowd.. even Matt was impressed! At the end of his show he took off all his microphone equipment and still managed to fill the entire arena with just his voice… it was so silent as everyone took it in, that you would of heard a pin drop. After the show we went for drinks in Canary Warf and retreated back to our hotel after a few glasses of wine.
The next day was a scorcher so we were up early and made the most of our time in London. Having not really had an leisurely time in London whenever I have visited it, we decided to take our time and act like tourist for the day taking in the sights on London and wandering around the many beautiful streets in Kensington and Chelsea. We were underwhelmed with Oxford street after realising that the street has the same stores along it but just 500 meters apart, we headed to Hyde Park for a make shift picnic from Sainsburys. After our rest and sunbath we headed over to Harrods so I could pick up some macaroons from Laduree. When I lived in France my friend and I would visit Paris purely for the macaroons. We spend a good few afternoons sat in the Jardin des Tuileries nibbling on them in the sun… nothing beats them in my eyes! Matt went for the salted caramel and vanilla and I had pistachio and chocolate.
After a very long but enjoyable day wandering around London we hopped on the train and headed back to Leeds that evening for a barbeque with matts family… I was very happy to finally rest my very achy feet! Overall I had the most perfect weekend with my two favourite men (Matt and Buble). It was definitely worth the 6 month wait for my Christmas present!
Was anyone else lucky enough to catch Michael Buble at the O2? Or am I the only uncool blogger with the massive Michael Buble fascination?

If you don’t know by now, I am a huge pizza fan! However pizza isn’t the healthiest of meals so I am forever trying to find ways to make my favourite indulgence a little less fat and calorie laden. I have previously shared my Tortilla Pizza Recipe which I eat regularly and have received great feedback from you lot on. So today I am going to share with you my latest discovery; two ingredient pizza base. Yes you heard me right a pizza base made solely from two ingredients. These two ingredients are Greek Yoghurt and flour!
I used my favourite Fage Total Greek Yoghurt with strong white flour and it makes the perfect doughy and crispy base that is as good as your traditional Italian crust pizzas! Simply mix 1 – 1 1/2 cups of strong white four with 1 cup of Greek Yoghurt. Get your hands in the bowl and mix together the two ingrediants to form a smooth, soft, non-sticky dough. You may or may not need to add a touch more flour.
Once you have a good dough, roll it out into a pizza shape and top with your choice of toppings. Place the base on a pizza stone or oven tray and bake in a preheated oven for around 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye on it as the time you need to leave it will depend on your choice of pizza stone or oven.
I decided to top mine with toppings that reflected a refreshing Greek Salad. This made it very summery and full of vegetables and nutrients, rather than being topped with calorie laden peperoni. I used passata as my tomato sauce and swapped mozzarella for Haloumi cheese and topped it with red onion, cherry tomatoes and olives and threw some chopped cucumber on top once it had baked in the oven. The mixture of hot and cold toppings makes the pizza very refreshing… perfect for these hot days!
Estimated calorie count- 684 calories, 86g carbs, 20g fat, 47g protein
A Comparison- Dominos Small Italian Crust Veg-a-Roma- 1170 calories, 144g carbs, 43.8g fat, 51.6g protein
What do you think of my Two Ingredient Pizza Base? Have you tried this recipe before or are you going to give it a go now?

I don’t know about you but I’m not a massive fan of the gym. I don’t mind it every now and again but I see no point in paying to run on a treadmill when there are roads and fields to run in. Yes the weight machines are great as are the classes, but there are so many workouts you can do at home without the need for an expensive gym membership or expensive gym equipment.
So today I thought I would share with you my tips for creating a simple home gym. The first thing you need is a sports bra and running trainers, at home the road is your treadmill! If you don’t run already summer is the best time to start. Head out early morning or in the evening so it is cooler. If you start in the summer you have very few elements you have to fight such as the wind, rain and cold, and by the time winter comes round you’ll already be a seasoned runner so the rain and snow won’t faze you!
Above are pictures of my home gym. I’ll talk you through what I recommend to get you started for working out in the comfort of your own home.
- Space- Space is vital! However you don’t need loads. I used to workout in my university hall room which was about the width of me, so under 6 feet wide! I used to do sit-ups and push-ups on the tiny rectangle of my floor, so believe me as long as you have space to lie down and spread your arms out you have room to workout. Like many of you I workout in my living room. I push back the matt in my living room and push the sofa to one side to ensure I can get as much space to jump around as possible.
- Yoga Matt- Again very important! If like me you have wooden, hard floors you need to ensure you have a matt to cushion you back and your landing when jumping around. You cannot do sit-ups on a hard wooden floor you will severely damage your back! Even if you have a carpet a yoga matt is still recommended s its that extra support plus its easier to hold onto when doing the plank than a carpet which can be slippy.
- Towel- For me a towel is a must! I admit that when I workout I sweat, it’s not attractive but I don’t aim to look good while I workout. However sweating and yoga matts do not mix very well! So I use my ebody Gym Towel from ecloth* its very compact and super drying! I love this towel as I place it on my yoga matt and place my hands on it when doing the plank, mountain climber, burpees etc and the sweat from my hands is absorbed super quickly.
- Water- Again a must for ever workout! I use my CamelBak Water Bottle everyday throughout the whole day. However a simple resealable plastic bottle is just fine. Just make sure you are guzzling at least 2 litres of water a day.
- YouTube- YouTube is a life savour for us girls who workout at home as it gives you everything you need for a great workout for free! There are so many amazing fitness, health and workout channels on YouTube that post sometimes daily workouts! There is no need to pay for classes or pay a subscription for websites when there are free services. All you need to do is find a channel you love and try their videos. To help you out I have 4 playlists on my YouTube channel that are purely full of all the workouts that I have done and love.
- Weights- Weights are a must, they help you tone up, built sexy sculpted muscles and burn fat fast! I bought mine from Argos for around £20 for three weights of different sizes. If you don’t have money for weights, grab a tine of beans, or get water bottles and fill them with stones or sand. Tis is a good place to start for those who haven’t used weights before.
- Heart Rate Monitor- Not a must but something I recommend to those who already workout often and want something to help them track their result or push them further. I love my Polar Heart Rate Monitor it really does spur me on and pushes me harder. You can read my full review on it here.
What do you think of my home gym? Does yours look similar or am I missing something vital in your eyes? Are you a gym bunny, or a make it up as you go along girl like me?

You will either think I’m mad or will totally relate to me, but I would go mad if I didn’t workout for a while week. So the fact that I am currently on holiday does not stop the fact I will still be working out. I have brought my workout clothes with me, and specially bought some little shorts so I can workout in as little clothes as possible so I don’t over heat. Last year I ran most evenings while on holiday, this year I am running in the morning before the sun has chance to heat up and also partaking in some circuits in my apartment and have been attempting the below pool workouts.
You may not have the slightest interest in working out while on holiday but even just half an hour a day will make all the difference and can ensure you leave your holiday looking as fab as when you first went! Surely you would rather not waste all the effort you put into making sure you look good in your bikini by lying on your bum for 8 hours a day for the whole week and losing all your tone and putting the weight you lost back on! After all we want to look good all year round not just for two weeks of the year!
So enough of my rating/ motivational speech and onto the workouts. Below are a couple of workouts you can do in the comfort of your pool while on holiday. Surely the perfect place! No over heating, and no need to take trainers with you on holiday! Some of the moves look a little weird but some surprising work you hard because they are so tricky. I have also added a video from my trainer made for outdoor fitness, showing you what you can do with a simple park. Many countries now have outdoor gyms or parks so head there and take inspiration from his video below.
Do you have the intention of working out while on holiday? Do you take your trainers with you? Do you workout in the pool? How do you stay on track while on holiday?

Smoothies have to be one of my favourite healthy meals. They are super adaptable, come in a million different flavours, packed full of goodness, easy to make and suitable for breakfast, lunch and snacks. I’ve been upping my smoothie intake recently seems the weather has been so warm. I’ve been having one for breakfast and one for lunch. The one above is the one I have favoured over the past few weeks because it’s packed full of goodness and is making my skin look amazing!
Although it doesn’t look very appealing in the photos I swear it is more of a very deep purple in real life, however it still doesn’t look great. But I swear it tastes perfectly fine! I used to just make fruit and veg smoothies until I decided to take my smoothie to the next level and add some extra goodness to it. Recently I have been using the Fushi Superfood Green Blend and Fushi Chia Seeds in a bid to cram extra nutrients into my meals. I was inspired by Miranda Kerr’s recipe shown in this video. She claims that she swears by this smoothie to start her day everyday and it too is packed full of the nutrients found in Fushi’s Superfood Green Blend. So if a super green health smoothie is good enough for her it is definitely good enough for me!
I adapted her recipe as couldn’t find some of the ingredients she uses, plus I like my smoothies with a bit of fruit in them. So to make my version I use half a banana, handful of mixed berries, a bunch of spinach (natural protein!), apple juice, 1/2 tablespoon of Fushi Superfood Green blend and 1/2 tablespoon of Fushi Chia Seeds.
The benefits to this smoothie are endless!
- The Fushi Superfood Green Blend makes it magic, as it contains a whopping 17 powerful superfoods as well as Vitamins C, Zinc and B12. With all the vitamins and nutrients it really is a girls best friends, I definitely noticed a difference in my skin, hair and well being.
- The Fushi Chia Seeds I add to upp my intake of fibre, protein and omega-3. With Chia seeds you only need a tiny amount to get the benefit as they are so nutrient rich!
- Spinach is a favourite ingredient of mine in smoothies as it is a great source of protein, which means you stay fuller for longer! I swear that you never taste the spinach, so you may as well as it to your next one and make it extra healthy!
What is your favourite smoothie recipe? Do you have any super healthy secret ingredients like I do?

As you may be able to tell from my blog, I love to smile. I am a very smiley person, if you were to meet me in real life you will spend half your time wondering what I’m giggling about, as apparently I laugh a lot! I think this is a nervous trait that I have, but at least it makes me appear cheery. So as I am a naturally cheery and smiley person I thought it was suiting to talk to you about AXA PP healthcare and their drive to celebrate the impact of a healthy smile throughout July.
This month AXA PPP healthcare want to inspire people to actively improve their dental health and highlight the development of dental though the years. You can see below some rather gruesome yet interesting facts about dental care in times gone by. My favourite from their dental health fact sheet is that in Egyptian Dentistry animal teeth were used as replacements… fangs anyone! And that the first electric toothbrush came around in the 1960s!
AXA PPP are also running two amazing competitions to win some dental related prizes, Their Facebook competition has the grand prize of the chance to win a trip to Barcelona or one year of dental cover. All you have to do to be in chance of winning this amazing prize is head over to their Facebook page and upload an image of a smile hidden in an object. You can see my entry above!
Their second competition is over on Twitter where AXA PPP healthcare are running a competition to win a Beam Brush- the first ever smart toothbrush which monitors your oral health, simply follow the instructions from @AXAPPPhealth to retweet or use the hashtag #AXAPPPSmile to win. Terms and conditions apply bit.ly/13C8OO8
Finally onto the most serious matters after all these competitions. AXA PPP healthcare are holding two, free dental clinics, giving anyone who might have a question on their dental health, an opportunity to discuss it with their dental experts. A talk on Health and Dental will take place on the 11th July at 2PM-4PM and a talk on Teeth Cleaning Products will take place on 25th July 2PM-4PM. You have the chance to submit a question prior to the live date here.
Are you are going to take part in some of these amazing opportunities? What do you think of my entry compared to the others?

I was contacted by Dole and asked whether I would like to try some of their new Dole Live Right desk snacking range of goodies. As a girl who spends most of her life behind a desk and is always trying to avoid the office box of chocolates that seem to appear form no where I jumped at this opportunity.
Upon receiving the goodies I was pleased to see that they came in handy pouches and bars so I can just throw them in my work bag or desk draw and open them as and when I needed a nibble. I was pleased to see that they are all 100% natural with only fruit nuts and seeds being the ingredients. I received a wide range of the goodies, which come in 4 different forms but in a wide variety of flavours. They are sweet in flavour but crunchy and filling, thanks to being crammed full of protein. To begin with I was a little weary of the sugar and carb content, however after speaking to my personal trainer I was pleased to hear that if I ate them at the right time of the day, so as and afternoon snack or ideally after a workout then they are fine as it is natural sugar.
This range is very yummy, very healthy and perfect for work day afternoon snacks. Plus with prices starting from only £1.49 they are very affordable! A new favourite of mine!
Have you tried of heard of the Dole Live Right Desk Snacking Range? What snacks do you grab at 3/4 in the afternoon when your sweet tooth kicks in?
